Starting to wear a hair system can significantly enhance your appearance and confidence. Here’s a concise guide to help you through the process:
Preparation
Shaving: Use an electric razor to remove hair from the bonding area, ensuring a smooth surface for attachment.
Cleaning:
- Wipe away adhesive residue with a damp towel.
- Thoroughly cleanse the scalp using a deep-cleaning shampoo and exfoliating scrub; rinse multiple times to eliminate all residues.
- Dry your hair and scalp completely with a hairdryer.
Attachment Methods
Choose between adhesive tape or liquid adhesive based on your preference.
Apply a waterproof sealant to the scalp.
Affix double-sided adhesive tape around the perimeter of the hair system base. Determine the front hairline position, typically four fingers’ width above the eyebrows.
Ensure all edges are firmly pressed for a secure hold.Wait a few hours before engaging in activities involving moisture or sweating.
Liquid Adhesive Attachment
Apply a waterproof sealant to the scalp.
Apply liquid adhesive along the bonding area. For skin hair systems, you can also apply adhesive to its surface. Wait until the adhesive becomes tacky.
Determine the front hairline position, typically four fingers’ width above the eyebrows. Align the hair system with the hairline, starting at the front, and gently press down toward the back, ensuring no bubbles or wrinkles.
Firmly press around the edges to secure. Allow a few hours before engaging in activities involving moisture or sweating.
NOTE
For lace hair systems, apply liquid adhesive directly to the scalp, not the lace material.
Both methods are effective; liquid adhesive generally offers a more durable bond, while tape is quicker and easier to apply.
